 Ball Crushers

Captain: Brad Schwandt 

 Hello, my name is Brad, and I am a CAE/CAD Designer and Quality Auditor by profession. In my athletic life I have played Football, Volleyball, Water Polo, multiple Martial Arts and MMA competitions, and run Track and Cross Country. I have experience coaching High School Track and Field.

Nowadays I play pickleball with about two years experience, and love participating in leagues and tournaments. It is such a great way to meet new people, build friendships, and create new communities. You can find me both on the challenge court, as well as the open play courts with new partners every night. 

 Baseline Baddies

Captain: Tijana Milovanovic 

I'm a software delivery lead and former high-school and collegiate rower who has tried my hand at numerous sports. A friend introduced me to pickleball in March 2024 - she doesn’t play anymore, but I was instantly hooked.
Pickleball quickly became the perfect competitive outlet for me. I'm naturally competitive but also love creating a fun, positive vibe on the court, and it's been great meeting and playing with so many people along the way.
I thrive in fast, dynamic, and challenging games, and I'm excited to keep learning new skills and evolving my game.

Captain: Paige Wilhelm 

 Paige began her Pickleball journey in 2023 with her husband, Kyle. After trying pickleball once, they were hooked. Pickleball became a way to meet new people, spend time together, and scratch the competitive itch through tournaments. Outside of Pickleball, Paige has two Australian Shepherds, Mango & Remi and a cat Milo. When Paige isn’t working her 9-5, she is either playing Pickleball or doing something related to Pickleball.

I’m an elementary PE teacher of eight years and the varsity softball coach at Royal Oak High School. After playing collegiate softball, I needed a new competitive outlet—enter pickleball! Now I bring the same energy, teamwork, and love of play to the court.

Former HS tennis player who could never find a match.

Scoffed at pickleball when I first saw it, started playing and turned that scoff into a woot!

Been playing 3 years, enjoy playing tournaments every 4 weeks or so.

DPL seems like something fun and new, looking forward to working with our team for the new season!

Stepping onto the court from mighty Macomb, Michigan… it’s KEVIN ‘The Macomb Menace’ AVENIUS!”

Former college track-and-field runner who traded spikes for spreadsheets, he now dominates the tech world by day and the pickleball court by night. Married to Cora, proud dad of his son, Sam, and constantly herded by two Australian Shepherds, Penelope and Hazel, he picked up pickleball last year and still hasn’t figured out how to put it down. Known for his relentless energy, dangerous dinks, and inability to take a day off, he’s the man, the myth, the certified pickleball problem for anyone across the net.
